The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority have announced their decision today to lower the speed limits on two key Dubai highways.
According to the authority’s Twitter account, the speed limits on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road have been reduced from 120 km/hr to 110 km/hr.

Accordingly, the radar has been reset at 131 km/h.
The decision was taken after a meeting between Mattar Al Tayer and Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police. This decision has been made in hopes of decreasing the number of accidents that take place on these two roads.
